OMG MAPS OMG

Anyone that knows me knows I have a map obsession. Currently I have 4 framed in my apartment along with a decorative "K" in my room with a vintage map motif. So the genius graphic designer Andrey Kolb has amazingly turned Lady Gaga's "Telephone" into a 50's style children's book. I have no words except sooooo cool! If I had children they would totally have this. Check out the entire "story" here. I wonder what Gaga would think of this....??

Money Talks

So, has anyone else seen the design for new currency? I definitely think it's got a love / hate following. Personally, I like it and this article points out some of the convient aspects that would come about with new bills. Plus, I like the colors and let's be honest, our currency is so dirty and flimsy and boring compared to the rest of the world's. Imagine holding slick shiny colorful bills! Perhaps they could spur the economy because people would want to spend their fun money (Wishful thinking). What do you think? The link above shows more of the colors / designs.

Artist Corner

I am absolutely in love with the work of Blanca Gomez, a graphic designer working from Madrid. She makes amazing prints and I loved so many I had a hard time picking favorites for this post! They are whimsical and classic, and remind me of childhood storybooks that had awesome sketches, like The Phantom Tollbooth.
